YOU WANNA CALL THE SHOTS?!?!
Ever have a bad experience with a referee? Or maybe you’ve been looking for a way to help make our program a better experience for the kids? Well here’s your chance to make things better! The NRASL is always looking for people who are interested in helping out by refereeing games for our Recreation/In-House Development Program! It doesn’t require a lot of training, equipment or experience. The most important piece is just making sure that everyone involved stays safe and everyone has fun! US Soccer Federation (USSF) Certified Referees are always welcome, but our NRASL Commissioner typically runs a referee clinic before each season.
Refereeing is also a paid position. Referees are compensated per game, with those of higher age groups earning a higher rate of pay.
The only equipment anyone needs is a stopwatch, a whistle, and a black or black and white striped shirt. A black jacket or certified uniform jacket is preferred to be used in colder weather, but not required.
If you’d like more information on refereeing for our Recreational program or you’re interested in more training as a referee, please email our NRASL Commissioner, Shayne Clegg at [email protected].
